Bestselling novelist Cinda Williams Chima began writing romance novels in middle school. Her bestselling Heir Chronicles young adult urban fantasy series includes The Warrior Heir (Hyperion, 2006), The Wizard Heir (2007), and The Dragon Heir (2008).
Chima’s best-selling Seven Realms fantasy series debuted with The Demon King (October, 2009) (Disney-Hyperion) to be followed by The Exiled Queen in September, 2010. This crossover trilogy published as YA fantasy in the U.S. and adult fiction in six countries overseas.
Chima’s books have been USA Today, New York Times, and Indie bestsellers. They have been named to Voya’s Best Science Fiction and Fantasy lists, Kirkus Reviews Best YA list, ALA’s Popular Paperbacks, Voya Editor’s Choice, Booksense and Indie Next picks, and International Reading Association Young Adult Choice. They have also appeared on multiple state honors lists.
Chima was a recipient of the 2008 Lit Award for Fiction from the Cleveland Lit and was named a Cleveland Magazine Interesting Person 2009. She lives in Ohio with her family, and is always working on her next novel.
