Pals Around the World is a series of educational books that teach children about different countries before connecting them to their very own pen-pal.
As founder of PALS, I originally wrote the series over the last several years and partnered with Children's Illustrator, Al Margolis to do the wonderful illustrations before testing and incorporating feedback from teachers, librarians and parents. We are currently working on an e-ready version with plans to release one new book each year. PALs books are endorsed by Children International - one of the largest charities in the world helping children who leads the United Nations Youth Day League every August in Washington D.C. and many other well known celebrities who care deeply about children. For a partial list of some of the names involved, please see our website and or join us on Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=381052519697 To learn more about our books and a partial list of some of the celebrities involved, please visit us at: www.palsaroundtheworld.com The PALS AROUND THE WORLD is currently visiting LA area schools for our Earth Day 2011 celebration April 22nd. Some of our past events include celebrating EarthDay in the LA schools with the LA LAKER girls and many more star events on our Facebook page. $2.00 from the sale of each book goes directly to Children International, while all remaining profits go into developing and releasing new educational books for the series. The books are also printed in compliance with the American Forestry and Global Releaf - planting two trees for every used to make each PAL book. The project teaches children to: love one another, know each other's culture and to "give back" to both CI and the environment before providing pen-pal resources. FOR IN-PERSON or SKYPE VISITS please feel free to contact us. Thanks again for your time and interest! |

We have just embarked on a tour for the Alphabet Kids Multi-cultural Book Series. It is called the Alphabet Kids Many Face-Many Faces National Tour - Tolerance and Understanding from the Start.
The response has been very enthusiastic by school leaders, teachers, and community centers such as the Boys & Girls Clubs, hospitals, faith-based organization and charity events. We recently paid a visit to the Barbara Bush Hospital in Portland, Maine plus many other bookstores and schools from Maine to New Jersey. We have targeted ages 3-8 years. Additionally, children 9-11 have great interest and engagement when we discuss our stories. Our next stops are Washington, DC on October 4, New Milford, CT on October 10, and Miami on November 11. We are eager to visit additional communities. I would welcome hearing from you on your thoughts about diversity discussions in your schools and hometowns.
