Presentations: I taught Freshman Composition at the collegiate level, and also have some experience teaching and tutoring at the K-12 grade level. I enjoy tailoring my presentations thematically to fit a classroom (or library's or book discussion group's) current discussion needs.

Audiences: High School Classes, Libraries, Book Discussion Groups, Writing Groups. I'd also love to Skype with a college writing and / or college adolescent literature class. Even if your group doesn't exactly fall into these categories, get in contact! I adore talking about literature / writing and meeting fellow book nuts (both adults and teens)...

Available Times: I'm a full-time, home-based author, and can be flexible to accommodate your class or group.

No recording of Skype Sessions without permission from the author.

No Cost Meet the Author Visit: 10-15 minutes (to do a test-run, and to discuss the interests of your group).

In-Depth Visit Length: Roughly 1 hour, but the length can be negotiated to fit your group's needs.

In-Depth Visit Cost: All fees are negotiable.

Prerequisites: I ask that all audiences be familiar with my work. A Blue So Dark (Flux Books), a novel that explored mental illness and creativity as well as the mother-daughter bond, was released last May, and received a starred review in Booklist. Playing Hurt (Flux Books), a romance between two former athletes, is set to be released March 1, 2011. Please make sure your group has read A Blue So Dark before Skyping.
