Presentations:

I prefer to read the book to the children, then let them be quite open and honest about questions and concerns they may have regarding how "itchy kids" think and feel (I grew up an itchy kid myself, and both of my daughters are itchy as well). I do NOT have a medical background or medical degree of any kind, and I will in no way, shape or form give out any medical advice; the topics discussed are simply how a child suffering from food allergies, environmental allergies, asthma and/or eczema feels and deals with their daily battles. The poems in the book are silly, and depict kids with these aggravating and sometimes embarrassing symptoms in a light hearted way. The goal is for itchy kids to "feel comfortable in their own itchy skin", and for "non-itchy" kids to understand and accept them just as they are, while feeling empowered enough to assist their itchy friends if the need arises.

I am also able to discuss the creative process of writing a children's book from the first inclination, through the tedium of revisions, and finally to the much anticipated and rewarding release (this discussion is open for ALL ages from K-12). I promise to make the audience giggle at least once, but I WON'T make you itchy.

Audiences: For The Itchy Kids Club - Pre-school through 4th grade.

Available Times: Monday through Saturday, 8:00 a.m to 9:00 p.m. EST

No Cost Meet the Author Visit: 10-15 minutes

In-Depth Visit Length: 45 minutes to 1 hour, mostly depends on the age level and attention span :)

In-Depth Visit Cost: $50-$75

Prerequisites: A funny bone and an open mind about other kids who may be just a little different than you.
