How did you WRITE that?: Explores the changes a story goes through as it evolves from a computer document to a bound book. Each step of the revision process is discussed and manuscripts, editorial letters, deleted scenes and ARCs are shared.
Living the Author Life: Outlines the day to day life of an author–pajamas and all. After sharing some of my work from childhood, I discuss the journey to publication: submitting work, rejection letters, agents, more rejection letters, editors, and fan mail. Common author myths also debunked.
Writing really real characters: What are the things we remember about a character long after the story is read? Elements of realistic characters will be discussed. The group will then brainstorm a cast of characters for a fictional story using character charts.
