Presentations: Think lively conversations that include: idea sparkers, various writing formats and genres, writing practices that work, steps to publishing a book, writing tips, and what it's like to be an author. I often focus a presentation on a specific title that may fit into your curriculum, as requested, such as Michelle Obama: From Chicago to the White House, Tooth Tales from around the World, or Annie Shapiro and the Clothing Workers Strike. I also conduct fun writing workshops using music, games, and unusual pictures as idea generators. And I love questions. Audiences: Since I write for readers preschool through adult, I feel comfortable talking with any age and size group. My background in special education helps me tailor material to different grades, and I speak often with adult groups about breaking into writing/publishing.
