Presentations: I love to chat with kids, teachers and librarians about my books! For groups that have read THE INCORRIGIBLE CHILDREN OF ASHTON PLACE books, I can talk a little bit about how I became a writer and what a writer's life is like, the books and where my ideas come from, and then do Q&A.
I'm happy to customize a more specific presentation on request. I think the most valuable use of an author visit is to answer the students' questions, though. Usually they're awesome and bring out all kinds of fascinating topics.
I also write YA books, and am happy to talk shop with teen readers. In my experience teens are often very interested in how to improve their own writing and what it's like to be a professional author. If you have a group like that, we can do a more writer's craft oriented visit. Contact me to discuss.
Audiences: middle-grade, YA
Available Times: I live in Eastern Standard Time. My schedule varies, so give me a few options and we'll find a day/time that works.
No recording of Skype Sessions without permission from the author.
No Cost Meet the Author Visit: 10-15 minutes. As my schedule permits, I can pop in and say hi to your book club or class for a short informal Q&A.
In-Depth Visit Length: 45-60 minutes
In-Depth Visit Cost: $150
Prerequisites: It's really important that the kids are familiar with at least one of my books. The Incorrigibles books work great as a classroom read aloud and appeal to both boys and girls, so have fun with them and spend a little time thinking of Stump The Author questions! That way we'll have a great discussion when I show up on screen.
