Megan is happy to work with schools to develop programs appropriate to your needs.

For Book Clubs: Secrets of Truth & Beauty deals with family issues, as well as body image and sexuality, making it a great choice for books groups. Megan would love to be a part of your conversation.
For Schools & Libraries:

The Publishing Process: Explains the journey of a book from idea to hard copy in the bookstore with examples from Megan's own experience. The program will stress the importance of revision (Secrets of Truth & Beauty went through about 10 sets of revisions) and so would be particularly appropriate for English classes. Appropriate for high school students.
Reading Tolerance: Characters in Secrets of Truth & Beauty discuss the various prejudices in our society. Megan can bring this discussion to your classroom. She will work with teachers to develop questions appropriate to the group, and facilitate a discussion after relevant reading scenes from the book.

For Teachers & Librarians: Megan is a high school librarian and is happy to talk about her dual roles. She can also speak about incorporating young adult literature into the classroom, using popular literature to bridge to the classics, and collection development.

Audiences: High school students, teachers, and librarians.

Available Times: Monday through Friday after 3:00 pm EST. Other availability may be possible. Please inquire.

No recording of Skype Sessions without permission from the author.

No Cost Meet the Author Visit: 10 - 15 minute session free for classes and book clubs which have read Secrets of Truth & Beauty.

In-Depth Visit Length: 45 - 60 minutes.

In-Depth Visit Cost: $150.

Prerequisites: 10-15 minute Q and A sessions are available only to classes & book clubs that have read one of Kate's books so that students will have a basis for asking questions. For longer presentations, this also tends to work best, though it's not a requirement
