Exploring Habitats of the World Program for K-6th Grade
In a 1-hour interactive slide performance, author/illustrator Sheri Amsel will show students grasslands, deserts, mountains and rain forests through her colorful book illustrations and photographs. Students will see amazing habitats, wild animals and how Sheri turns them into full color book illustrations. Then, in smaller classroom sessions, Sheri will teach students to illustrate their own habitats posters. Adapted to enhance elementary curriculum studies of habitats, animals, adaptations, food webs, and wildlife conservation. Programs include a book signing with educational discounts on all books and bookmarks for everyone.

Adirondack Natural History Program for K-6th Grade
In a 45-minute interactive slide performance, author/illustrator Sheri Amsel will show students this unique habitat and the wild things that live there. Learn about the importance of wetlands. See how the Adirondack Park’s natural resources (mountains, lakes and forests, etc.) have been an important part of economic development in the region. Adapted to enhance elementary curriculum studies of New York State, the Adirondack Region, animal classification and conservation. Sheri will demonstrate turning animal photos into the illustrations in her books.Then, in smaller classroom sessions, Sheri will teach students to illustrate their own habitats posters. Programs include a book signing with educational discounts on all books and bookmarks for everyone.
