My interview was great. Short and free, and lots of fun. I did have to find a place with higher speed than I have at home (where I have satellite), but once I went into my husband's university office, it worked like a charm. I brought a few props along - my book, pics of me as a kid (the audience was 3rd grade). This is a great alternative! 3  out of 3 found this valuable. Do you?

"Hello to our Skype Authors -- please feel free to give us your thoughts and ideas."
The whole world of publishing is changing and most publishers and authors review a newsletter by Dan Poynter and blog by Verla Kay. Both these sites have really helped us. Also we are making the transition to E-Books and PDF files. Etsy.com is now making us almost as much as being on the road. We have two stores on Etsy, deliawach.etsy.com and teddybearguardians.etsy.com to see Prints from our books as PDF files.

What an exciting idea! I have my first 2 SKYPE presentations scheduled for April 13 and May 17 - the first to 200 5th graders in Ramsey NJ and the second to 5th graders in Manteno IL. We plan a "practice session" on school equipment prior to the actual visit but I would love to hear any other suggestions from authors who have completed a SKYPE visit. (I read one that recommended a bottle of water nearby - great idea!) Also, I'm wondering....the IL teacher found me via this website. Are authors/talks sorted by grade level or interest level somewhere on this site? She was specifically looking for someone to talk about the Orphan Train Movement but I'm not sure how many pages she would have had to look through to find me. If not, then I guess I'm Lucky my last name starts with "A"!! Best wishes to everyone for Great Skype Visits!! Do you find this valuable?

I think Skype is such an excellent tool! I've done about 12 Skype visits so far and each one has worked out so well-- lots of positive feedback. Teachers may be apprehensive at first, but when they experience it, they love it! Can't wait to do more!! Do you find this valuable?
