Would this work in China?

Looks like a great concept. Do you think it would work with International Schools in China if we could find some respectable time? It would be a fantastic way for our students to interact with Authors they might not otherwise get a chance to "meet".

I don't see why it wouldn't work. I Skype with my daughter, who is living in Norway, all the time. Sometimes the webcam picture is a bit blurry, but if you get a good connection, it works very well. BTW, one of my picture books, LIBRARY LIL, was published in Chinese. Very fun. If you want to try out a connection, send me an email and we can test things out. You can find me on the author list on this very site. Do you find this valuable?

Some of our characters were made in China and Delia got a trip to work in a factory designing a whole range of products from tea sets to teddy bears. We would love to go on line to schools and we had planned to start applying to travel to schools in China lecturing about our experiences in the Rain Forests, our books, and how to write and illustrate children's books. We have ten published children's book and a novel coming this year and have spoken in 540 USA schools. Marty at teddybearguardians.com

Hi, Have been doing SKYPE programs since computer cam and SKYPE was available. Was just recently in China doing research (Shanghai was one of the stops) and visiting schools and they asked the same thing... Will SKYPE work in America??? LOL Would love to participate with this type of project. Do you find this valuable?

Hi,
I'd love to participate as well! My newest young adult novel, Tillmon County Fire, features a character who was adopted from China as an infant--and, more broadly, I'd love to hear from students at an international school regarding the book's themes around identity and fitting in. Happy to do an international test-call to check out the technology--and I'd love to "meet" your students!
